Design Versatility that Never Loses Sight of Function

Administrative areas in healthcare settings need to be as space-efficient and flexible as exam and patient care rooms to support lean practices at all levels. Their design features should also contribute to easy wayfinding and a welcoming and approachable look.

In Application

Due to swing arc trajectories, traditional swing doors can limit the amount of useable space in a room. For administrative areas (as well as waiting rooms and other high-traffic locations), open doors can in turn block corridors, creating congestion and reducing the ability to see important signage. OfficeSlide™ sliding door systems sideline these practical concerns by eliminating swing arcs, saving up to 30 square feet per door. They can accommodate storefront partition systems and a wide range of glazing options to support a welcoming and effortlessly navigable design.

Available in single door sizes up to 7 feet wide and dual leaves up to 15 feet wide, the interior sliding doors can be customized to fit a range of opening sizes. They can also be glazed with transparent, frosted or switchable privacy glass to achieve the correct balance of privacy and visual connection between spaces. Further, decorative laminates can be applied to OfficeSlide sliding doors to distinguish different offices, wings or administrative areas without sacrificing a cohesive design aesthetic. These laminates, along with the system’s ability to keep hallways clear, support easy wayfinding for patients, visitors and staff.

In addition to all its design features, OfficeSlide sliding doors also have a high-acoustic performance to limit distractions and maintain privacy. This is essential for creating quiet spaces for concentrated work. The door’s wide range of hardware options meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility standards for ease of use and can be specified with a number of security options to ensure the safe keeping of records and documents. Finally, these doors are fully compatible with AutoMotion™ for easy and hygienic hands-free operation.

"Without extra swing, you can do a lot more in a small space. This was one of the key reasons for using sliding barn doors."
