The ExamSlide™ sliding door system is equipped with perimeter gasketing and drop-down seals that are smoke rated to UL 1784 standards. The seals not only help keep damaging smoke away from medication and equipment, but they also help isolate these rooms should a spill or break occur. ExamSlide doors also often feature self-closing mechanisms. Closing at speeds compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards, these self-closing devices ensure doors are not accidentally left ajar without compromising access for those with limited mobility.

In addition to enhanced security, ExamSlide doors can handle the unique requirements of both utility and medication rooms. Since they eliminate swing arc trajectories, these doors can save up to 30 square feet of space per door. By gliding along or into walls instead of opening outward into a corridor, they eliminate potential points of congestion. The doors also allow for more useable space to house supplies and medications within the room itself. Additionally, without having to navigate approach clearances, staff with carts or limited mobility can more easily access these rooms.

When combined with AutoMotion™, this sliding door system can be activated with a push of a button or a wave of a hand. This feature supports more hygienic operation and ease of use for areas like laundry or utility rooms where staff uses carts or other equipment. Optional security accessories, like an Electric Strike card access system, can help ensure more controlled access to potentially hazardous materials.
